Big Banyan Tree Bangalore

@ Big Banyan Tree
Dodda Aladha Mara which literally means Big Banyan Tree, is located in the village of Kettohalli in Bangalore. It is a giant 400 years old tree and this single tree covers 3 acres of area. It is around 43 kms from HSR layout Bangalore where I have put up.

Now the tree doesn't look like a big single one, rather many different trees and you can also see monkeys at the tree surroundings. I visited this place with my friends sometime in October last year. I went via NICE (one of the best roads in Bangalore for long drive) and also touched 120 kmph speed :)

You just need an hour or two to roam around the tree. Later you can go and visit Manchanballe Dam, if you are lucky it will be open and you can view the dam, if not nothing you have lost, you can visit the jungle (which is close by) and have a nice walk through the trees. On the way back you can go for Gokarting too near Mysore road.

If you want to go for a long drive over the weekend, visiting Big Banyan Tree is one of the options you can keep in your bucket. It's worth to visit once.
